Wildcat Mining on EnergyChain

What is Wildcat Mining?

Wildcat mining on EnergyChain allows independent miners and energy explorers to tokenize previously untapped or abandoned energy projects, as well as submit new or existing ones. These projects can range from reclaimed sites with no visible evidence of past activity to active or unexplored energy reserves, such as natural gas, oil, or other resources. Through EnergyChain’s platform, miners can earn ENRC tokens by submitting comprehensive project summaries, hitting key milestones, and following the platform’s compliance rules.

EnergyChain offers multiple paths for earning ENRC:

  1. Submit Completed Energy Project Summaries: Research past energy projects that have gone through all stages, from exploration to reclamation, and submit a detailed project summary to earn ENRC. These projects often involve land that has been reclaimed, with no visible evidence of prior energy activity.
  2. Submit Ongoing Projects and Achieve Milestones: For new or existing projects, submit the project into the EnergyChain system and earn ENRC as you reach milestones in the Energy Resource Platform (ERP) lifecycle.
  3. Wildcat Mining: Independently locate and submit potential energy projects, whether they are legacy sites or untapped resources, and earn ENRC by following the rules and progressing through EnergyChain’s tokenization stages.

How to Start Wildcat Mining

  1. Research and Data Collection:
    • Historical Mineral Rights (Title): Investigate the history of land ownership and mineral rights to ensure no active claims remain. Past projects may have gone through their entire lifecycle, and you’ll need to gather data to confirm abandonment or reclamation.
    • Energy Regulator Data: Collect data from regulatory bodies on previous shutdowns, permits, or compliance actions tied to the project site.
    • Seismic, Exploration, and Production Data: Look for geological, seismic, and production data related to past or potential energy reserves.
    • Processing and Distribution Data: Ensure there is information available on the infrastructure that was used or could be used to process and distribute the energy produced.
    • Shutdown, Abandonment, and Remediation Data: For projects that have been shut down and reclaimed, submit the data detailing the reclamation process and any environmental work completed.
  2. Submit the Project:
    • Whether you’re submitting a past, present, or future project, compile all relevant data (mineral rights, seismic findings, production history) into a detailed project summary.
    • Declare your intent to tokenize the asset on EnergyChain and track it through the ERP.
    • Wildcat miners must demonstrate that past or current owners have waived their legacy ENRC rights to a project explicitly or implicitly. This waiver can be inferred if a project has been abandoned, reclaimed, or otherwise unclaimed.
  3. Earn ENRC through Project Lifecycle:
    • Completed Projects: For reclaimed lands where prior energy activities are no longer visible, research and compile the project’s entire lifecycle. Submit the completed project summary to EnergyChain and earn ENRC tokens based on its size and scope.
    • New and Existing Projects: Submit new or current projects into EnergyChain’s platform and earn ENRC at every milestone achieved—from discovery and appraisal to production and eventual abandonment or reclamation.
    • Wildcat Projects: Discover and tokenize previously overlooked or abandoned energy assets. Earn ENRC as your project advances through EnergyChain’s tokenization process, following evaluation and compliance checks.

Compliance Rules for Wildcat Miners

To earn ENRC through EnergyChain’s wildcat mining process, miners must adhere to the following rules:

  • Historical Data Compliance: When submitting past projects, ensure you have thoroughly researched the history of mineral rights, ownership, and energy production.
  • Fair Effort Right: Wildcat miners must make a fair effort to contact previous or current owners of the mineral rights. If no response or claim is received after a reasonable time, miners can proceed with the assumption of Right to Submit due to the project’s abandonment or reclamation.
  • Seismic, Exploration, and Production Data: All submissions must include relevant data on exploration, production, and environmental compliance.
  • Remediation and Reclamation Data: For legacy projects that have been reclaimed, miners must provide all available information on remediation efforts and compliance with environmental regulations.

Mining ENRC Through EnergyChain’s ERP

EnergyChain’s Energy Resource Platform (ERP) allows for multiple ways to earn ENRC tokens, based on the lifecycle of the submitted project:

  1. Completed Projects: For previously completed and reclaimed projects, miners can research the entire history and submit a detailed project summary to earn ENRC based on the project’s scope and value.
  2. Ongoing Projects: For active or ongoing projects, miners can submit the project for tokenization and earn ENRC as each milestone is completed, from appraisal and drilling to production and reclamation.
  3. Wildcat Mining: Locate and submit energy reserves that have been abandoned or overlooked, and mine ENRC as the project advances through EnergyChain’s evaluation and tokenization stages.

The Comply Service and Supply Chain

EnergyChain provides the Comply Service and Supply Chain, which assists wildcat miners and project submitters in meeting regulatory and data submission standards:

  • Data Aggregation and Appraisal: Assistance in gathering historical data, seismic reports, and regulatory documentation for project submission.
  • Tokenization and Project Management: Support for creating associated tokens, managing project lifecycles, and tracking progress through EnergyChain’s ERP.
  • Environmental Compliance: Guidance in ensuring all environmental and reclamation efforts are documented and submitted as part of the project lifecycle.

Wildcat Mining Disclaimer

Wildcat miners must demonstrate that past or current owners have explicitly or implicitly waived their legacy ENRC rights to a project in order to earn ENRC. There are no refunds for denied projects, though EnergyChain will make every effort to help miners achieve compliance. Projects are subject to evaluation and appraisal, and EnergyChain does not guarantee project success or token issuance.

Wildcat miners are encouraged to use the Comply Service and Supply Chain to ensure full compliance with regulatory and data submission standards. Wildcat mining is a high-risk, high-reward endeavor, and while EnergyChain provides resources to assist miners, the ultimate responsibility lies with the miner to submit accurate and compliant project data.
